1. Persian court records described the Sultan as the “Shadow of God”.
2. According to such chronicles, a man became a Sultan because of the virtues he possessed that were very similar to that of God.
3. Going by an inscription in the Delhi mosque, Alauddin was the chosen as a Sultan because he possessed the qualities of the great law-givers Moses and Solomon.
