Karnataka Coast, coastal lowlands in western Karnataka state, southwestern India. Constituting an area of about 4,000 square miles (10,000 square km), it is bounded by Konkan to the north, the Western Ghats to the east, the Kerala Plains to the south, and the Arabian Seato the west. It stretches from north to south for about 140 miles (225 km) and has a maximum width of about 40 miles (64 km) in the south.
