Three types of plastids are chloroplasts, leucoplasts and chromoplasts.
The most common type of plastid is chloroplast and is basically the reason why photosynthesis occurs, chromoplasts is exactly what the name suggests basically it provides for a place where the pigments are stored in order to be synthesized in plants.
Leucoplasts do not take part in photosynthesis but they form storage space lipids, starches and proteins.
