Give an account on the reign of terror

The reign of terror is the time period from 1793 after the execution of king Louis XII.Two parties were formed in France,namely- Jacobins and Girondins. Between them the Jacobins were the agressive party.When Jacobins got the power of France then Robespierre , Saint just and Carnot started to rule France in such a way that the people were terrified. They would captivate anyone who did not agree to them.This period(5th September1973-28th July 1974) is known as 'reign of terror'.This "reign of terror" came to an end with the execution of Robespierre, Saint Just and Carnot on 28th July 1974.
