Biodiversity is under serious threat as a result of human activities. The main dangers worldwide are population growth and resource consumption, climate change and global warming, habitat conversion and urbanisation, invasive alien species, over-exploitation of natural resources and environmental degradation.

Answer:

Some of the main threats of diversity are

  • Human activity and loss of habitats .
  • Deforestation.
  • Desertification.
  • Marine environment.
  • Increasing wildlife trade.
  • a climate change.

Explanation:

  • human activity and loss of habitats = human activity are causing a loss of biological diversity among animals and plants globally estimated at 50 to 100 times at the average rate of species loss in the absence of human activities.

  • deforestation = forests ecosystem contains as much as 80 percent of the worlds terrestrial biodiversity and provide wood fibre and biomass energy as well as water, energy and nutrition.

  • desertification = desertification is the process of the results of poor land management which can be aggravated by climate variations.

  • Marine environment = oceans play a vital role in the global environment . Covering 70 percent of the earth surface , they influence global climate, food production and economic activities.
