Answer:

It might not seem like it, but air has weight. Anything with mass has weight, and we know air has mass because (for example) we can feel it when the wind blows. The total weight of the atmosphere exerts a pressure of about 14.7 pounds per square inch at sea level.

Aim: To prove that air has weight.

Materials required: 2 identical balloons, a piece of string and a rod (like a plastic straw as it is light in weight).

Experiment:

1)Inflate the balloons with one balloon bigger(containing more air)

2) Tie these balloons on either side of the rod with the help of the string (make sure that both the strings are of the same size).

3) Now, tie the string in the middle of the rod.

4) Hold the string which is in the middle with your hand.

Observation:You will observe that the balloon containing more air is heavier (the rod is a bit bent to the side where the bigger balloon is tied). This is because air has weight.
