Explanation:

Educational tours are of great importance as they not only broaden our outlook but enhance our knowledge to a great extent. That is why, we, the students await for this precious moment impatiently.

Recently I got such an occasion. It was the time of summer vacation when all of a sudden a programme was made for all India tour. It was a tour of twenty days. All the students who were willing to enjoy this tour had to deposit Rs. 5000/- to bear the expenses of travelling, fooding and lodging. I being a great advocate of educational tours joined it whole heartedly. My parents supported me with required money.

We had our reservations in a special bogie. We were a group of fifty students all from XIIth class, three teachers and two attendants. We had already taken those things which we thought were necessary during the travel. As it was fixed, we left Delhi on 25th of May. We were sent off at the railway station by our principal, a number of friends and our parents. Everyone was in a cheerful mood.

They were all praying for our safe and happy time during the journey. The train was at its right time and we left the railway station in a very pleasant atmosphere. Our teachers also looked very happy. They advised us to maintain the norms of discipline all along the journey. We, the students assured them not to create any unpleasant moment at any cost.

As we had planned our first halt was Jaipur the ‘Pink City’. Here we had decided to spend at least two days. We were very excited to see this city which is famous for city palace, Birla Mandir, Amber Fort and Jantar-Mantar. We visited all these places in a very planned way and enjoyed every moment. We also enjoyed the famous dishes of Jaipur. We made some purchases in the last and then proceeded for our next visiting place, which was Mumbai.

We stayed in Mumbai for five days. It is a big city and has a net of local railway which seems to be the part and parcel of local Mumbai people. There we found hustle and bustle every where.

The people looked very busy with their work as we all had a long cherished dream to visit the famous Juhu Beach, Marina Beach, Marine Drive, etc. We were very excited to go there without wasting a moment. Our teachers also supported us and we decided to spend at least four-five hours at these beaches. These beaches are really very fascinating. I had never seen such beaches in my life. We also saw film studios and many Bollywood stars.

Our next halt was Bangalore. The city is very neat and clean. The beauty of Brindavan Gardens cannot be explained in words. We also visited Hindustan Aircraft Factory, and the Rail Coach Factory. Here also we made some purchases. Then we reached Rameshwaram, one of the holy cities of India. We also visited Madurai to see the world famous Meenakshi temple. We enjoyed south Indian dishes too.

After visiting these places we came to the conclusion that our country has really a rich cultural heritage. The temples gave us the idea of glorious past of Indian art and architecture. We gathered enormous knowledge during our travel.

There is no doubt that such tours have great educational value and there must such occasions in the life of every student. As it was fixed, we returned to Delhi, on 15th of June with sweet memories of the journey.
