It is the twenty first century. And we still hear about inferiority of women all around the world. Doesn't matter even if the country is in the first, second or the third world. We hear it everyday on the news, see it on the internet, read articles about it. Women are still treated inferior no matter what the society is telling you. Men supremacy is still there. But we, the children of this generation is fed lies telling that women can do whatever she wants, be in any position in their job. But this is not entirely true, when you really open your eyes and see, you wouldn't see much women on the higher ranks of the job. It's mostly men. Even if a woman has the same potentials to do a specific job, they'd choose a man.
Since, I am from Asia, I would write more about Asia comparatively to the west. In Asia, because of the cultural and social factors, there are ancient superstitious beliefs about how women are suppose to stay at home and not go mingle around in the society or most importantly not to be educated..Women and female infants are denied equal access to the resources available in the family. In a rural family, the father and the mother would consider educating the son instead of the daughter. As they believe that men are more capable of earning money. But I have to say, these social and cultural factors are slowly being declining in today's society, not entirely! Two-fourth of the human population is women and by educating these women, we will be developing the whole humanity. These are the humans, who gives birth and takes care of the their children. and if we educate this sex, it would be like educating the next generation. The educated and the non-educated mother would have a completely different way of dealing with their kids. For example the educated mother would be more aware of things and thus, the her children would be brought up in a good environment. Women's education would improve their social status and also will lead to more liberal or economic independence. Educating women would improve fertility and health care of women and babies. This would lead to less population of the world as educated woman would be more in control. Educating women would also to a low rate of infant mortality.
Middle east is the area of the world, in which women are least educated comparatively to men.In Afghanistan, 9 out of 10 women are illiterate. Life expectancy of a woman is 44 years old, that's the lowest in the world! Most of these women die during child birth. If these women were educated and aware of health. Then I am sure this wouldn't happen
Being, a sixteen year old girl myself, I strongly believe that money spent of the education of a girls is money well spent!
As prophet Mohammed says "seeking knowledge is mandatory to every believer"
