What is buffer action?
Buffer action is the ability of a buffer to resist a change in the pH value when a small amount of acid or base is added to that solution.
Buffer action of acidic buffers :-
In a aqueous solution, the acid being a weak electrolyte gets ionised to a small extent while it's salt gets completely ionised being a strong electrolyte.
Buffer action of basic buffers :-
In a aqueous solution, the base is ionised to a small extent as it is weak electrolyte while it's salt is almost completely ionised as it is strong electrolyte.
