. A tropism is a responsethat an organism makes to a stimulus. An example of a common tropism in plants is phototropism (or light response). Plants grow towards light sources, and if the direction of light is changed, the plant will also change its direction of growth to accommodate for survival.

Various processes in plants are controlled by chemical substances known as PGRs (Plant Growth Regulators) or Phytohormones.
Plants respond to a stimulus either by moving their body parts or by flowering patterns.
For example: sunflower respond to stimulus (sun) by moving its face to it.
