These hydrides have excess number of electrons than required for conventional lewis structure . Ex:NH3,H2O ,HF. The excess number of electrons are present as lone pairs . Ex : NH3 has 1 -lone pair , H2O has 2-lone pairs ;HF has 3-lone pairs.
