Hegemony refers to dominance of one group over another. Many methods are applied by a hegemonist to enforce hegemony. These are strength hegemony, institution hegemony and structural hegemony.

Strength hegemony is the military based hard power type of hegemony. Example of such kind of hegemony is the superior military power of U.S whether it be terms of armed forces or technology.

Institutions like United Nations and World Health Organization are the largest organizations around the globe who contribute the most in terms of their budgets.  

Hegemony as structural power enables to trade freely. World economy needs one big support which allows open trade routes for all.
