LPG is a good fuel. We choose the best fuel based on the amount of heat energy produced on complete combustion of 1 kg of fuel(ie. it's calorific value should be high) The amount of gas liberated which leads to pollution and the availability of it.
Even Hydrogen is a good fuel but it's very expensive as it's not available in large quantity. Coal is also good but it gives out a lot of smoke causing an increase in pollution.
