  • They can only be separated by a chemical reaction
  • Example:  water (H2O), salt (sodium chloride, NaCl), methane (CH4).

Mixtures :

  • Mixtures are substances that are formed by physically mixing two or more substances.
  • They can be separated by physical processes
  • Example : Smoke and fog (Smog)
