As per your need, an example is given as,

Think about a car speeding on a road. The car accelarates when drives push the accelarator. The car gains a speed v, and at that moment the acc. becomes zero.

Now, as per newton, a body moves or tend to move in a particular direction untill and unless an external force acts upon it.

The car's acc. is zero therefore it should travel infinte distance with speed v! but it doesn't.

The car stops after some distance. Why? does newton fails? No! there must be a external force that is opposing the car momentum. i.e. the friction force!
