Every integer is a rational number, since each integer n can be written in the form n/1.

For example 5 = 5/1 and thus 5 is a rational number.

However, numbers like 1/2 and -3/7 are also rational, since they are fractions they are not integers.

ya because integer is - infinity to +infinity but it's not in decimal whereas rational number is alway in the form of p/q where q should not be equal to "0 ".Thats why all the integers are rational no. but all the rational number is not an integer.
Hope now it clear.....
