They bond with more electropositive metal atoms. Ionic hydrides are usually binary compounds (i.e., only two elements in the compound) andare also insoluble in solutions. Now I hope you can form your own examples, but common examples are Sodium Hydride (NaH), Lithium hydride (LiH), Potassium hydride (KH) etc.

INSHAALLAH it will help you!

"The binary compounds are formed by combining dihydrogen with a "number of elements"". These "compounds" are called "hydrides". The metals which have "low electronegativity" values than Hydrogen forms the Ionic Hydrides.

"All the elements" of "group 1" and "group 2" form ionic hydrides on heating at the high temperature. Lithium hydride is not stable at moderate temperature and so "used" in the "synthesis" of complex "Lithium aluminium hydride".
