example:-

a-(b-c) is not equal to (a-b)-c

let a be 1

b be 2 and c be 3

so 1-(2-3)= 2

whereas (1-2)-3= -4

i.e. 1-(2-3) is not equal to (1-2)-3

thus subtraction is not associative for integers

hope this helps
