Give an example where a force is exerted on an object without doing any work on the object.

Pushing the wall... Where I apply a force but the displacement is zero hence the work done is zero

When a load is kept on the head of a person ( or a coolie at the railway station) the mass of the body, force is acting on it. But there is no displacement and hence no work is done.
