Accurate measurement is needed in many scenarios. For example, say you are building a rocket, the screws, metals and other parts NEED to be of accurate measurements because one minor mistake could even cause the entire mission to fail.

Accurate measurement is not necessary when, say for example, making tea, you don't need and accurate measurement of how much sugar you are going to put in it. A few grams here and there won't harm, hence, you only need an estimate.
