ABC be a RIght angled triangle . AC=3cm,BC=4cm.From pythagoras theorem AB=5cm.
​Consider a particle at "A".It moves to "B" through "C".
Then the distance is =AC+BC=3+4=7cm
displacement means the shortest path between the starting point and ending point travelled by the particle. In this case displacement is equal to AB=5cm
5cm<7cm
It means distance is greater than displacement in this case
