1. Take a beaker and pour some water in it.
2. Place the cutting of 'hydrilla' at the bottom of the beaker with cutting keep upwards.
3. Invert the funnel on the cutting.
4. Now invert test tube filled with water over the funnel.
5. Fill the beaker three fourths with water.
6. Keep the above set up in the sunlight for at least 5 to 6 hours.
7. Observe the set up closely.
8. Take out the test tube convering its mouth with thump. Bring a lighted matchstick near the mouth of the test tube after gas is collected in it.
9. Note that the the gas collected in the test tube is Oxygen as it supports combustion. So the flame gets burnt more.
