Answer: Nucleus is a membrane-bound organelle, which is found in the cells of eukaryotic organisms. It contains the genetic material of the living organisms, which is called as DNA ( deoxyribonucleic acid). It controls all the essential activities of the cell. The important genetic processes like duplication of DNA, synthesis of RNA takes place in this organelle.

It is surrounded by two membranes namely, inner nuclear membrane and outer nuclear membrane. These membranes form the nuclear envelope, which regulates the transport of molecules in and out of the nucleus.
