it's a good novel by William Shakespeare ... it simply give a proof about the frienship of. Antonio& bassanio ... love between Portia and bassanio...the very main characters are Antonio , bassanio , Portia, Shylock . bassanio and portia love each other but Portia can't marry him bcz of his dead father's casket system ... according to which the one who finds Portias portrait among the 3 caskets can marry her ... so bassanio as usual borrowed money from his frnd Antonio and went to win Portia ... and he did it ,, he found her portrait . the money which Antonio gave to him was taken as a borrowing from Shylock who was an enemy of Antonio . they took it from him bcz Antonio was at that time lack of money bcz his ships did not return from business .... and after the borrowing time got over he was not able to pay... off the money .. so a bond was signed between them accordingly Shylock can take out a pound of flesh from Antonio's body if he did not return the money in time ... he was now not ready to take the price but only demanded for his pound of flesh .. then portia entered in disguise and with her cleverness she saved Antonio
