the total potential difference in first case
= by watching the picture ...if I Ampere current flow through it the current will be same through out all the cells so we can say that they are in series combination .
so
V (equivalent) = V1 +v2 + v3
therefore, 2+2+2= 6volt.
2nd case ) = If I Ampere flows through all the cells then same current will flow through all the cells then we can say that all cells are in series combination .
now we know that
V equivalent = v1+v2+v3
therefore 2-2+2+2= 8 volt
