Given mass of the luggage(m) = 5.5kg
Height of the luggage from the ground(h) = 2.5m
Acceleration due to gravity(g)=9.8m/s²
Therefore, work done(W) = mgh
=5.5kg×9.8m/s²×2.5m
=134.75kg m/s²×m
=134N m
=134J

the work done =force × displacement
the displacement is vertical so it is height = h
we know that,
force=mass×acceleration
the work is done against the gravity
so the acceleration = acceleration due to gravity that is 'g'
g=9.8
work done= 5.5×9.8×2.5
=134.7 j
