Then, perimeter of the field

= 2 × (length × width)

= 2 × (x + 23) m

Cost of fencing per metre = Rs 18

Total cost of fencing = Rs 1980

Then the length of fencing

= 1980/18 m

= 110 m

So, we can write

2 × (x + 23) = 110

or, 2x + 46 = 110

or, 2x = 64

or, x = 32

Hence, length of the rectangular field = 32 m.
