Two-Tangent Theorem : It states that, if two tangent segments are drawn to one circle from the same external point, then they are equal.

In the figure;

AP and AS are the two tangent segments are drawn to one circle from the same external point A.

Thus,

AP = AS --------(1)

BP and BQ are the two tangent segments are drawn to one circle from the same external point B.

Thus,

BP = BQ -----------(2)

CR and CQ are the two tangent segments are drawn to one circle from the same external point C.

Thus,

CR = CQ ------------(3)

DR and DS are the two tangent segments are drawn to one circle from the same external point D.

Thus,

DR = DS ---------(4)

Now,

Adding eq-(1),(2),(3) and (4) ,we get;

=> AP+BP+CR+DR = AS+BQ+CQ+DS

=> AP+BP + CR+DR = AS+DS + BQ+CQ

=> AB + CD = AD + BC

Hence proved.
