Disjoint sets includes the events that has no relation with each other .Disjoint set have intersection set as an empty set .
For example -A person has 5 children
Ram ,shyam ,neha ,sonia,rahul
A set of girl is (neha,sonia)
A set of boy is (ram ,shyam ,rahul)
Both are disjoint as there is no common part.
Another example is
A person owns a set of audi and bmw
Set-(audi,bmw)
A person also owns two bikes yamaha and pulsar
Set2-(yamaha,pulsar)
Set 1 and set 2 both are disjoint .
