• THE ECONOMIC CAUSE- THE KING OF FRANCE WAS A LAVISH DOLT AND MAINTAINED A EXTRAVAGANT COURT OF VERSAILLES DURING THE TIMES OF FINANCIAL CRISIS.

• THE IMMEDIATE CAUSE - THE RUMOURS SPREAD IN THE CITY.

• THE SUBSISTENCE CRISIS- THE FAMINE WHICH HIT FRANCE AND CAUSED THE DEATHS OF MANY PEOPLE, DURING THESE PERIODS THE PRICES OF GOODS HIKE RAPIDLY.
