There are several differences between a physical and chemical change in matter or substances. A physical change in a substance doesn't change what the substance is. In a chemical change where there is a chemical reaction, a new substance is formed and energy is either given off or absorbed.

 \huge \boxed{ \bold \red{physical \: change}}

1. Physical change is reversible means it can be recovered

2. It involves changes in physical properties of substance such as shape, size etc.

3. In this, no new product is formed.

4. Energy absorption and evolution doesn't involve.

EXAMPLE - Tearing of paper, melting and freezing of water and ice etc.

 \huge \boxed{ \bold \pink{chemical \: change}}

1. Chemical change is irreversible means it can't be recovered.

2. It involves changes in chemical properties and composition of the substances.

3. In this, some new products are formed.

4. Energy absorption and evolution is involved.

EXAMPLE - Burning of wood/trees/paper, rusting of iron, setting of curd, etc.
