Give any three drawbacks of the panchayats

The problems of Panchayati Raj system are as follows:

(i) The panchayats are dependent on government at higher level for their funds and this restricts their decision making.

(ii)Political interference in decision making hampers the effectiveness of local government.

(iii)The Panchayati Raj in India has not been an absolute success. Its functioning all these years has demonstrated numerous shortcomings. Some of the defects of the system are as follows:
