Copper (II) Hydroxide [Cu(OH)2] and Calcium hydroxide [Ca(OH)2] are bases which are insoluble in water. Bases like sodium hydroxide (NaOH), potassium hydroxide (KOH), barium hydroxide [Ba(OH)] are soluble in water. Hence, these are known as alkalis.
