Characteristics of Natural vegetative propagation:
- The parts of plants such as roots, stems, leaves as well as flowers can involve in natural vegetative propagation process.
- Plants raised from this method bear the ability to produce fruit and flower earlier than those developed from seeds.
- The daughter plants are genetically identical with their parent plants.
Examples of vegetative propagation:
The most striking example of such process is seen in leaves of Bryophyllum.
When the leaf is placed on the soil, within two or three days buds appear and it leads to the formation of new plants.
