Battle of Plassey fought between Britishers and Nawab of Bengal . in the year 1757.

Reasons :

•  Misuse of Dastakaths : Sira-ud-Daula was  furious that the Dastakaths were misused by the officials of the company losses to government treasury.
• Mending of the fort without permission: The Britishers repair the fort of Calcutta and placed canons in them.
• Black room tragedy: Siraj-ud-Daula conquered the fort William easily and imprisined some the British. He imprisoned 146 Englishmens in  small room in the fort, of which 123 died. This is called as the Black room tragedy.
• This enraged Robert Clive and arrived in Bengal with a large army ,this led to battle if plassey.

The only major power that stood in the way of the British East India Company from establishing their stronghold in Indian colonies was the Nawab of Bengal and his French allies. The Battle of Plassey was the victory of the Company over the Nawab establishing Company rule in Bengal.
