Chemical test to distinguish between-
1)benzaldehyde and acetaldehyde is Fehling's solution test.
2>benzyl bromide and bromobenzene is Silver nitrate test.

Hey dear,
● Acetaldehyde vs Benzaldehyde -
Acetaldehyde undergoes aldol reaction benzaldehyde dont.
Ethanal in presence of ammoniacondense to form β-hydroxybutyraldehyde.
2CH3-CHO ---> CHO-CH2-CH(OH)-CH3
Benzaldehyde dont undergo aldol condensation.
● Benzyl bromide vs Bromobenzene -
Benzyl bromide reacts with alcoholic silver nitrate, bromobenzene doesn't.
Benzyl bromide reacts with alc.AgNO3 to give ethyl benzyl ether.
C6H5-CH2-Br + C2H5OH + AgNO3 --> C6H5-CH2-O-C2H5 + AgBr + HNO3
Bromobenzene dont react with alc. AgNO3.
