Answer
Sulfur dioxide is a colorless gas with a pungent odour. It turns moist blue litmus paper into red due to its acidic nature. Upon further exposure the litmus paper turns white due to the bleaching action of sulfur dioxide. Aqueous acidified solution of potassium dichromate is orange in color.
