Answer :-

Average speed for the whole journey is 49.11 km/h .

Explanation :-

For calculation of average speed, firstly we have to calculate the total distance travelled and total time taken.

________________________________

From Delhi to Agra :-

→ Speed (v₁) = 30 km/h

→ Time (t₁) = 2 hrs

⇒ Distance = Speed × Time

⇒ d₁ = 30 × 2

⇒ d₁ = 60 km

From Agra to Kanpur :-

→ Speed (v₂) = 60 km/h

→ Distance (d₂) = 200 km

⇒ Time = Distance/Speed

⇒ t₂ = 200/60

⇒ t₂ = 3.33 hrs

From Kanpur to Prayagraj :-

→ Distance (d₃) = 100 km

→ Time (t₃) = 2 hrs

In this case, we have both the distance covered and time taken .

________________________________

Total distance covered :-

= d₁ + d₂ + d₃

= (60 + 200 + 100) km

= 360 km

Total time taken :-

= t₁ + t₂ + t₃

= (2 + 3.33 + 2) hrs

= 7.33 hrs

Average speed :-

= Total distance/Total time

= 360/7.33

= 36000/733

= 49.11 km/h

Given :-

Speed 1 = 30 km/h

Time 1 = 2 hrs

Speed 2 = 60 km/h

Distance 2 = 200 km

Distance 3 = 100 km

Time = 2 hrs

To Find :-

Average speed

Solution :-

In Case 1

Distance = Speed × Time

Distance =  30 × 2

Distance = 60 km

In Case 2

Time = Distance/Speed

Time = 200/66

Time = 3.33 hr

Now

Average speed = Distance covered/Time taken

Avg. Speed = 60 + 200 + 100/2 + 3.33 + 2

Avg. Speed = 360/7.33

Avg. Speed = 49.1 km/h
