THE METAMORPHOSIS
Once upon a time, in the mountains in a land far away , there lived a healthy active and a cheerful girl named Antima. Antima- a twelve year old innocent girl was excellent at sports, be it football, badminton or chess . She defeated her opponents with great ease, bit alas! It was only academics where she lacked.
She didn't have a bent if mind towards the maths problems and the lengthy answers of literature and novels . She failed exams one after the other and then was called by names and teased as 'poor and dull'
Being good at sports didn't pay her much and was turned out of school as she couldn't even manage to score 33% marks in her final exams . She was down in dumps and her face was like a wet weekend. To add to her misery, and despite trying hard. She couldn't get admission in any other good school.
One day while weeping in her room antima heard a soft whisper,"my child is very sad , no school is ready to admit her" , murmured her soft hearted mother laxmi.
It was getting tochirons for Antima . She sworn to herself ," I will definitely grab admission in St. Joseph's now." Antima burnt the midnight oil and finally became a part of class sixth at St. Joseph's.
The environment of the school was friendly- teachers were supportivery and encouraging and peers were accepting and compassionate. A tall, young lady in a silk sare entered the class and called out for Antima ,"her little girl I will help you with the syllabus of term 1 everyday after school for one hour . " it was miss jenny , the class teacher . She proved to be lining on a dark cloud- Antima. "And yes you can continue with the sports par time :- the house matches are approaching soon."
It was a great day for Antima as she was for the first time motivated to follow her passion along with academics .
As the sessions began, she showed visible improvement in sports as well as academics . Her grades went Hugh and eventually she became popular athlete in under 14 category. It was like a dream come true for Antima. She made her parents and teachers proud.
