Hi , there !!!

here is your answer !!

when sunlight having sufficient amount of energy when it is incident on surface of metal then electron is come out from the metallic surface and this is known as Photoelectric effect or Photoelectric emissions.

Photoelectric effect occur only when the energy incident on Photon is equal or greater than work function ( also know as Photoelectric effect ) of the metal.

there is no time interval between incident of photon on metallic surface and erection of electron from metallic surface.

REMEMBER
the number of electron or photoelectron rejected from metallic surface is totally dependent on intensity of light and it is not dependent on frequency of light.

Hope it helps !!

thanks !!

Give definition of photoelectric emission.

it is the process in which electron are emitted from a metal surface when Em radiation of sufficiently high frequency are incident on it. the emitted electrons are called photoelectrons.
