1. The word sedimentary is derived from the word ‘sedimentum’ means ‘settling down’
2. Sedimentary rocks are formed by accumulation and hardening of sedimentsfor eg. mud, sand, silt.
3. they are disintegrated rocks over a period of time. 
4. They are arranged in layers
5.they are found over a large area of earth. 
6.Examples of sedimentary rocks are Sandstone, clay rocks,e tc
