Conventional Source:
1)It is a source of energy since time immemorial.
2)It is an exhaustible source of energy except for hydro energy.
3 )Pollution is produced by them as they emit smoke.
4)Expensive generation.
5)Expensive to store and transmit
6)Coal, Petroleum, Water, Firewood.
Non-conventional source:
1 )Identified recently.
2)Inexhaustible.
3 )Pollution free, generally
4)Low expenditure
5)Easy maintenance
6)Tidal energy, Biogas energy, Wind energy.
Major demeit of conventional source is that it is quite expensive and creates pollution. Whereas, from that perspective non conventional source’s merits are that it is pollution free, of less expense and also easy in terms of maintenance.
