DICOTS
the dicot seeds have two cotyledons
dicot plants have reticulate venation in their leaves.
the dicots have two distinct sufaces on their leaves. hence these leaves are called dorsiventral

MONOCOTS
monocot seeds have only one cotyledon called scutellum.
these plants have parallel venation in their leaves.
the two surface of the leaves are more or less similar. hence they are called isobilateral leaves.
