Difference between osmosis anddiffusion is that both solvent and solute particles are free to move in diffusion, but when we talk aboutosmosis, only the solvent molecules (water molecules) cross the membrane.

ravideep1316: diffusion is the movement of particles from high concentration to low concentration unit the particles are spread evenly whereas Osmosis is the movement of water from a less concentrated solution to a more concentrated solution through a partially permeable membrane.

.....osmosis.
° The movement of the water molecules from higher concentration to the lower concentration due to selectively permeable.

° Occurs in liquid.

° For example : sprinkling salt in pickle.

.....diffusion
° The movement of air molecules from higher concentration to the lower concentration is called diffusion.

° Occurs in air.

° For example : Respiration in amoeba.
