  • Example of acidic solution is lemon, hydrochloric acid, sulphuric acid and nitric acid. Blue litmus paper is used and it turns into red colour when dipped into acidic solution.
  • Example of basic solution is sodium bicarbonate, sodium hydroxide. Red litmus paper is used which turns into blue colour when dipped into basic solution.
  • Example of neutral solution is water which shows no colour on litmus paper when dipped in neutral solution.
