heterotrophs are orgnisms which cannot prepare their own food due to lackof chlorophyll and hence depende upon other organisms for food.
PARASITIC NUTRITION- in this type of nutrition a living organism taks food and shelter in another living organism, the organism which takes shelter is a parasite and the organism which gives shelter is a host.
the parasite obtaind its nutrients from the host, resulting in lack of nutrients in the host, lack of nutrients in the host may cause problem to the host
eg- roundworm(intestine), lice(hair)

SAPROPHYTIC- In this nutrition living organisms obtain their food from other dead and decaying matter organic matter.
eg- mushrooms, fungi.

INSECTIVOROUS-  in this type a plant feeds on another living organism such as insects. do not confuse this with parasitic because in that the parasite extrcts nutrients from the host whereas in insectivorous the organism feeds on the whole insect.
eg- drosera,

SYMBIOTIC- this is also similiar to parasitic nutrition, wherein a parasite takes shelter in a host but, in this type the host is not put in problem but is benefitted. as both the host and the parasite is benefitted this is symbiotic.
eg- Rhizobium in root nodules of plants, this bacteria takes nutrients from the plant and in return convert atmospheric Nitrogen to useful Nitrogen which can be utilized by the plant and helps in rich growth of the plant
