Rationalisation is basically used to remove the root symbol from the denominator of a fraction.

We use the subjugate to do so.

In simple terms. The sign of the last term gets reversed.

1/2+√3

The rationalisation factor would be 2-√3

1/√3

The rationalisation factor would be √3 only.

We use this to make our calculations easier too.
