For a moving body , speed is the quantity which tells us how fast the body is moving, while the velocity tells us the speed of body as well as direction of motion.
Speed is a scalar quantity and velocity is the vector quantity.
Example for speed and velocity:
Car moves with speed 15m/s will be an example for speed.
Car moves with speed 15m/s due east will be an example for velocity.

Speed only has magnitude but velocity has magnitude and direction both. Means velocity is speed with direction.
Speed-
23 km/hr
5m/sec
Velocity-
23 km/hr towards south
5m/sec upwards
