Lets say we know that 5 men make 5 machine in 5 days and we need to calculate how many machines will 10 men make in 10 days.

We can solve this as follows: (5 x 5) / 5 = 10 x 10 / Y. Hence Y = 20 machines.

Another example, lets say 10 men put in daily 10 hours to finish a job in 15 days. How many days will it take for 20 men working at 12 hours a day.

We can solve this as follows: 10 x 10 x 15 = 20 x 12 x Y

Hence Y = 6.25 days
