Example of Syncarpous is Hibiscus and Papaver and example of  Apocarpous is Michelia and custard apple.

Both Hibiscus and Papaver show the presence of multicarpellary apocarpous gynoecium, i.e. they have a gynoecium containing more than two carpels which are fused with each other and cannot be separated or distinguished.

However, Michelia and custard apple both show the presence of a multicarpellary apocarpous gynoecium, i.e. the female reproductive whorl consists of more than two carpels which are free from one another and can easily be distinguished.
